The Preferred Lenders are now processing loans and beginning appraisals. As this process unfolds, we will soon get a sense of how difficult it is to get financing in today’s environment as well as how the units are holding up in value versus our contract prices. Clearly our readers are anxious to hear how this is all going, so please share as soon as you feel it is appropriate for you to do so.

I began the mortgage process with one of the preferred lenders two weeks ago. The amount of detail they asked that I provide was substantial but that’s to be expected in today’s market, especially when purchasing a condo. The prefered lender did not initiate the order for the appraisal until I was approved for the loan. Once the Loan was approved I was asked to pay $400 for the appraisal and it was ordered. The results are expected back in one week so my guess is that we should be getting a fair amount of feedback within the next week. This is where things get interesting!

Thank you so much for passing this information on. This is so helpful. We will all be curious what the appraisal comes out to be. We do expect them to vary depending upon the unit and floor. Good luck and thanks for contributing!
